Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you order from Irish Car Plates ("we", "us") at irishcarplates.ie. By placing an order you accept these terms.

1. Who can order

You must be 18 or over and the registered owner (or have the owner's permission) of the vehicle the plates are for.

2. Plate specifications

Road-legal plates are manufactured to comply with Statutory Instrument 318/1992 (and any amendments). Show plates are clearly marked as off-road only and are not legal for use on Irish roads. It is your responsibility to choose the correct product for your use.

3. Proof of entitlement

For road-legal plates you must provide a valid Vehicle Licensing Certificate (VLC) or Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC) matching the registration ordered. We may refuse or cancel any order where proof cannot be verified.

4. Orders and pricing

All prices are in euro and include VAT. We may correct obvious pricing errors before dispatch. An order is accepted when we send a dispatch confirmation.

5. Delivery

Orders placed before 2pm are posted the same working day. Estimated delivery times are guidelines and not guarantees. Risk passes to you on delivery.

6. Returns and refunds

Plates are personalised to your vehicle. Under EU consumer law the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to goods made to your specifications. If a plate arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, contact us within 14 days for a free replacement or refund.

7. Liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses (for example fines for incorrect plates you ordered, or vehicle downtime). Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland and the Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
